Sharing a Bad Day
As a leader, you are bound to have bad days. They are
unavoidable. And unpleasant. It is
tempting to share the pain. But when you are having a bad day, don’t ruin
everyone else’s just because you can.
Don’t leave kind words unsaid. And think about whether harsh comments are
necessary even if they are true.
If you must take it out on someone, go home, smack the dog
on the nose with a newspaper, and yell at your spouse. With any luck, the dog will bite you and your
spouse will make you sleep in the garage. That will help put things in
perspective.
